Otto Kumm, was an SS-Brigadeführer and Generalmajor of the Waffen-SS, and a recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. The Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves and Swords was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. After the war, he became one of the founders and the first head of the veteran organization HIAG. LH13089
