The shield was worn by the 90th Panzergrenadier division. It was worn on the left side of the cap.
The 90th Panzergrenadier division was formed in 1943 on the island of Sardinia. The division fought successfully at Cassino, Rome, Florence, and Bologna. The division ended the war south of Lake Garda when it was captured by the Americans.
