Description
Reichsautozug Deutschland Armband. A handsome example of the certainty rarely encountered armband (ie. ‘Ärmelstreifen’) worn by the ‘Reichsautozug Deutschland’ unit which was specifically intended for members within the ‘N.S.D.A.P. Reichsautozug’ (or: ‘RaZ’). This particular organisation the ‘N.S.D.A.P. Reichsautozug’ (or: ‘RaZ’) was attached to the N.S.D.A.P. head-quarters based in Münich and was in charge ‘of furnishing and setting-up all that was necessary to handle a large-scale party rally’. Their responsibilities included setting-up and maintaining audio systems, seating, shelter and housing, field kitchens and/or latrines. This piece has an SS association as it has an SS pennant eagle as part of the design indicating that the wearer was in the SS, probably as security for the unit.
This piece has an SS pennant eagle above the wording on a fine fool armband and is shown in the SS Cloth Insignia book by Angolia Updated Edition page 133. LH7956
