The German text NSKK VERKEHRS ERZIEHUNGSDIEST translates to “NSKK traffic control service” and the shield is numbered 16932 and those numbers appear above the second model NSKK eagle with the lettering in the banner above the eagle. Each of these gorgets have a different number. The body of coronet shaped gorget is painted black with a better than 96% intact finish and the entire piece to include the original chain is made of an aluminum alloy. The backing for this example is wool felt and complete. The veteran has written an interesting note on the reverse indicating what he had and there is a date of 1946 on the paper. LH10827
