Description
Early Nickel Silver Juncker Panzer Badge – Silver Grade. These badges by Juncker are among the very first Panzer Badges made and awarded at the onset of the war with many being awarded to veterans of the Poland and France Campaigns in 1939 to 1940. If you want to get just one Panzer Assault Badge it would probably be an early Juncker as some consider this the most handsome design. Early Juncker Panzer Badges are considered the most desirable by some collectors.
The Panzer Assault Badge was created on 20 December 1939. The Silver Grade was given to Panzer/Tank crewman who met the combat requirements being that the soldier must have participated in three combat assaults on three separate days . On 1 June, 1940, following the start of the Blitzkrieg against France, the Bronze Grade was introduced to award armored reconnaissance, motorcycle riflemen, and panzer-grenadier units. The requirements for both versions were the same. LH4983
