The large uniface cast bronze plaque weighs approximately 43 pounds. It has holes in the four corners for mounting, and is topped by a narrow shelf. The Gettysburg Address is quoted in 23 lines. The plaque was made by the Gorham Company circa 1916. Gorham engaged Victor D. Brenner to create a 172 mm uniface medal, similar to the Lincoln cent, affixed to the upper left corner of the plaque.
